Christopher Hays is a fine art nature and landscape photographer blurring the lines of fantasy and reality.
As a lover of books, I seek to explore themes most often found in fantasy literature. Themes of growth and decay, peace and turmoil, light and dark, good and evil are not solely found in the worlds bound by ink and paper; these themes envelope and are endemic to the world around us.
Through my photography, I seek to capture the essence of story within the natural world. For nature itself crafts stories that enlight us, engage us, enthrall us, and endow us with emotion words cannot express. Every sunbeam that filters through the leaves, every ripple upon the water, and every shadow cast by the setting sun echo an ancient narrative.
As I continue this adventure, I am reminded that the line between fantasy and reality is often blurred. And so, with these blurred lines, each page turned and each photo captured may serve as a gateway for reconnection, restoration, and revitalization of the natural landscape and, so too, our imaginations.
I am based in New Mexico.
There is a reason New Mexico is known as the “Land of Enchantment.”
